Evensong provides a quiet and beautiful setting in which individuals may retreat from the hectic pace of daily life, come back to the Source of that life, and be refreshed and renewed. We offer a variety of retreat approaches to accommodate the seasoned retreat veteran or someone who has never before been on retreat. From scheduled programs to personal quiet time, Evensong has something that will appeal to you. Scroll down to read through our various offerings. Personal Private Retreats
Evensong is available to individuals who wish to make a personal private retreat. These retreats are intended for those who wish time away by themselves. Traditionally these retreats are done in silence. Time each day is spent as a person chooses, but typically involves periods of personal prayer, spiritual reading, and time communing with nature and or recreating (many beaches, boating, fishing, golfing, hiking & biking trails are nearby). A personal private retreat involves a minimum of two nights and may extend for up to five nights. Retreatant arrives between 2pm and 6pm of the first day and stays through lunch on the last day. All meals are provided including supper on the first day, breakfast and lunch on the last day. The cost is $110 per night (state and local tax must be added unless you have tax-exempt status)For those who have never been on retreat guidance will be provided. Appointments may be made during your stay for Spiritual Direction or Reiki for an additional fee.

Five Day & Eight
Day Retreats
Five and Eight Day Retreats are available for those who wish, including the more traditional eight-day Ignatian retreat. These retreats, while held in silence, involve a more structured rhythm of personal prayer, meditation, and reflection, and may involve direction. For those who wish to make a five-day retreat in a larger group two such retreats are offered each year, one in Advent and one in Lent. (See our Schedule for dates and information.) Those who wish to make a personal five-day or eight day retreat may apply to make one at anytime (based on availability of space). Past experience with silent retreats is a pre-requisite for making a five-day or eight-day retreat. Those applying for eight day retreats will also be asked for a letter of reference from their Spiritual Director. Cost for a five-day private retreat is $500 (not including tax) and includes meals. Cost for an eight-day private retreat is $800 (not including tax) and also includes meals. Arrangements may be made for Spiritual Direction for a small additional fee. Reiki treatments are available by appointment for an additional fee.
Thirty Day Retreats
We offer 30-day retreats using a retreat format with a Franciscan theme. It is less structured than the traditional Ignatian 30-day format, and adaptable to individual retreatants. Our 30-day retreats are based on a daily rhythm of reflection, private prayer, community prayer, and silence. Prior experience with silent retreats is required, and applicants for a 30-day retreat should be engaged in a regular practice of daily prayer and have some connection to communal worship. While here retreatants are free to join us for daily Eucharist and Evening Prayer, or if they prefer there are churches of several denominations within a couple of miles of Evensong that provide a regular worship schedule. Guided Retreats
These two or three day retreats are usually offered on weekends, and involve groups of three or more people to a maximum of twenty. Directed by Evensong staff or guest Directors, guided retreats unfold around a specific topic or theme, and may involve private reflection, group discussion or other exercises.
